UP Police decide to impose blanket ban on offering of Friday namaaz on roads

Hindu outfits, in retaliation against the practice of offering Friday “namaaz” on roads , had started reciting ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ on roads in several districts on Tuesdays and Saturdays which was gradually paving the way for a confrontation between two communities.

The Supreme Court gave its verdict on adultery law on Thursday morning. It will later hear whether there is a need to revisit a 1994 verdict that held namaz or prayers can be offered anywhere or a mosque is essential to the practice of Islam.
