Earlier on February 1, residents of New Palam Vihar had stopped work on the elevated road of the NPR that is being executed by Larsen&Toubro Limited, a construction company appointed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Traffic movement was smoother on MG Road as there were a fewer number of vehicles coming from the Huda City Centre road taking a U-turn to turn towards Sikanderpur.

The Iffco Chowk underpass, a unidirectional L-shaped structure meant for commuters travelling from the HUDA City Centre to Sikanderpur on MG Road, is all set to open this Sunday.
The Rs 5,000-crore project, which was practically shelved last year, was revived after the highways authority agreed to evaluate the feasibility of a new option recently suggested by the airport operator, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), NHAI officials said.(Picture for representation)

Last Friday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had approved the shifting of 2,675 trees almost 1.5 years after the file was sent to his government by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The cloverleaf is crucial for smooth movement of vehicles from the Dwarka Expressway, also called Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), to the other side of the National Highway 48 to the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR).

Residents of New Palam Vihar on Thursday halted the ongoing construction of an elevated road on Northern Peripheral Road (popularly known as the Dwarka Expressway) in protest against a faulty curved alignment of a part of the road near Sector 109/110.

Work on the Sohna elevated road project is likely to commence by next month as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has said it will remove encroachments along this road in Badshahpur village over the next 15 days.
According to officials, the incident took place around 5am Wednesday when the heavily laden truck crashed into the structure of the under-construction flyover and a major segment of a temporary concrete structure, weighing around 30 tonnes, fell on the vehicle.(Picture for representation)

Early Monday, a chunk of concrete fell from the flyover at Rampura Chowk, 11km from Rajiv Chowk, causing a large hole on the road. Due to the damage, the central lane of the flyover and the underpass below it had to be closed, leading to frequent jams and congestion.

Even though NHAI extended the deadline four times, Reliance Infra, the company responsible for carrying out the project, has once again applied for an extension till April-May 2019 as the work near Nasarapur is still incomplete.
