Nidhi Razdan said she was invited in 2019 to speak at an event by the Harvard Kennedy School, and one of the alleged organisers told her of a teaching vacancy. “A few weeks later I was ‘interviewed’ online for 90 minutes. It all seemed legitimate, the questions were thorough and professional,”.

Two Chinese nationals among 12 nabbed for defrauding ‘thousands’

The DCP said the gang floated this fraud as a multi-level marketing scheme, in which users could earn a percentage of a money made by people referred by them. Investigators claimed that two other Chinese nationals, who the police believe to be the kingpins of the racket, are on the run.

Honey traps or online scams, fraudsters use social media as their new hunting ground

The most common cyber crime is still credit/debit card fraud with 1,122 complaints, Facebook-related cases of cheating are third on the list, next only to internet fraud with 183 complaints.
