SC agrees to examine plea for CBI probe into illegal sand mining

Kerala High Court rejects actor Dileep’s plea for CBI probe in actress attack case

Dileep had moved the high court six months ago, saying some officers probing the case had implicated him based on the statement of the first accused, a notorious criminal, and that the probe was conducted in a pre-planned manner.

SC to hear plea for CBI probe into Unnao gang rape and victim’s father’s death

Alleging that the complaint had not mentioned the name of the legislator ‘under political pressure’ and that the state police would not carry out a ‘fair investigation under compulsion’, the Supreme Court said the matter should be handed over to the CBI for an independent investigation.
