Bihar panchayat polls: Trend reverses,women emerge as ‘better half’ after 50% quota

In the first phase, 15,328 candidates filed their nomination for different panchayat posts, of which 9,093 were women, which comes to 52.79%. For the second phase, 76,279 candidates filed their nominations, including 40,168 women, ie. 52.65%.

962 cr credited to accounts of two poor students in Bihar, bank probes

The incident came into light on Wednesday when outgoing mukhiya (panchayat head) took some of the students to the local CSP to check whether their accounts were credited with money for books and school dress.

Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar said his request to attend the GST Council meeting online is yet to be accepted. also indicated that Maharashtra will oppose any attempt to encroach on the state’s power while adding more provisions, such as petrol and diesel, to GST.
