When Sinha was promoted as ADG, he was designated as “in-charge” additional director pending clearance from the CVC. Following clearance, Sinha has been formally promoted.

The order also says that CBI Joint Director V Murugesan was “bogged down” by additional charge of Joint Director AC(HQ)-I zone which being a “heavy zone” takes away much of his “time and attention”.

Acting CBI chief Nageswara Rao closes case on Alok Verma’s ‘order’

In March, CBI’s Chennai branch, then headed by Rao, decided to close the case in “absence of evidence” and the CBI director Alok Verma as “competent authority” accorded approval to this, according to documents seen by Hindustan Times.
