Asian Games 2018, Day 7 highlights: Tajinderpal Singh wins gold with games record, three bronze in squash
Tajinderpal Singh Toor lit up day 7 for India at the Asian Games 2018. The 23-year-old broke games record with a throw of 20.75 meters to win India’s only gold of the day. There was further good news as Rajiv Arokia and Muhammed Anas qualified for men’s 400m. In women’s division Hima Das and Nirmla made it to the finals. Although India managed to get three bronze in squash it was slightly disappointing that none of them could be converted into silver or even gold. India continued to blaze a trail in hockey and women beat Korea 4-1. India are also assured of at least two more medals in bridge in men’s team and mixed team.

Asian Games 2018 Day 5, Highlights: Shardul Vihan wins shooting silver, India miss out on men’s kabaddi gold
The Indian men’s kabaddi team had to settle for bronze after they were outplayed 27-18 by Iran on Day 5 of the Asian Games 2018. Earlier, Shardul Vihan held his nerve and bagged a silver in the double trap shooting event. It was a sensational performance by the 15-year-old as he displayed tremendous composure and ended one point behind Shin Hyunwoo. In tennis, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan held their nerve to enter men’s doubles finals while Ankita Raina tried her best but had to settle for a bronze medal in women’s singles.
