Trinamool leader killed, Congress activists attacked in Bengal poll-related violence

The Trinamool Congress leaders’ death pushed the number of those killed in panchayat poll-related violence in the state to 12. Since nominations began on April 2, the election process has been marked by intimidation and violence.

Senior Trinamool leaders, including chief minister Mamata Banerjee, have said over the past few days that the polling has to be completed before Ramzan begins (likely to start from May 16).
