Before Mahakumbh-2025, third STP to come up at Naini at a cost of 60 cr

The city’s first plant of 8 crore litre capacity was built in Naini itself. Last year, an STP of 4.20 crore litre capacity was also started here. Project manager of Jal Nigam, Prayagraj, Surendra Singh Parmar said that the construction of the third plant would cost around ₹60 crore.

MCG commissioner inspects Bandhwari landfill site

Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) will use two sewage treatment plant sites of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority for disc tube and reverse osmosis units to treat the legacy leachate at the Bandhwari landfill site. The MCG will purchase DRTOs from a fund established by the Haryana government to tackle pollution. MCG commissioner PC Meena has instructed daily monitoring and penalties for delays in processing waste and setting up a waste-to-energy plant. Vehicles used at the site will be fitted with GPS to ensure compliance.

PM Modi to inaugurate 6 mega projects in Uttarakhand under ‘Namami Gange Mission’

The Prime Minister’s Office said on Monday that the projects include construction of a 68 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP), upgradation of the existing 27 MLD STP at Jagjeetpur in Haridwar and construction of an 18 MLD STP at Sarai in Haridwar.

PM Modi will also inaugurate a 5 MLD STP at Chorpani and two STPs with capacities of 1 MLD and 0.01 MLD at Badrinath.(ANI)
