India, China working on ‘early resolution’ of stand-off, says MEA

External affairs ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said both sides continue to be in touch through diplomatic and military channels to work for an “early resolution” of the border standoff with the guidance from the top leadership of India and China.

In Sikkim’s second Covid-19 positive case, 56-year-old man contracts infection

Sikkim has made it mandatory for all people returning from other states to stay in paid or government quarantine for 14 days and in home quarantine for two more weeks. Paid quarantine facilities are available in hotels earmarked by the state.

Paid quarantine for returnees helps Sikkim hotels recover lockdown losses

According to the hotel owners, there has been a huge response from local people returning from other states as they are barred from staying at home but have the option of staying in paid quarantine at hotels. For those who cannot afford hotels, the Sikkim government offers institutional quarantine.

North Bengal hospital refuses to test samples sent by Sikkim due to spike in Covid-19 cases

Sikkim stopped sending samples from May 19. Officials in Sikkim said NBMCH authorities told them that the hospital was carrying out more tests than before since the number of cases in Bengal has gone up.

‘Sikkim an integral part of India’: Delhi govt withdraws ad, suspends officer

The Directorate of Civil Defence, Delhi Government had issued a notice for recruitment which said that a citizen of India or a subject of Sikkim or of Bhutan or of Nepal and a resident of Delhi can apply to join civil defence corps as volunteers.

Sikkim reports first Covid-19 case after man who returned from Delhi tests positive

The 25-year-old man who had returned to Sikkim on May 19 was sent to a facility quarantine centre on his return along with 11 others. On May 21, he developed fever and was shifted to STNM Hospital in Gangtok on Friday.

This is not the first time Indian and Chinese soldiers have exchanged blows along the border. In August 2017, Indian and Chinese soldiers threw stones at each other and also exchanged blows near Pangong Lake in Ladakh, close to the de facto border between the two countries.
