India objects to omnidirectional CCTV cameras set up by Nepal at Uttarakhand border

Indian officials have asked their counterparts in Nepal to replace them with uni-directional CCTV cameras. The issue was raised by Indian officials during an informal border meeting between the two sides on Tuesday near Tanakpur border town of Champawat district.

According to the police, there are about 300-440 stray cattle that routinely enter the roads, posing a constant threat to the traffic int he region. At night, the animals often stand or sit on the middle of the roads, increasing chances of accidents.
