A bank unions’ body has said it will go on a 48-hour nationwide strike on May 30 and 31 to protest the meagre 2% wage hike offered to bank employees by the Indian Banks’ Association.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has proposed the bank strike beginning 6 am on May 30, till 6 am on June 1, demanding early revision of wages. The wage revision has been due since November 1, 2017.
