Not possible to introduce ghost entries into Aadhaar database: UIDAI

Congress calls for Aadhaar check after website’s security breach report

The Congress party on Tuesday asked the authorities to make “appropriate moves” to check Aadhaar after a website reported that its investigation has found that a “critical security features”of the identity database could have been compromised. HuffPost India reported that its three month-long investigation had found that the Aadhaar database, which contains the biometrics and personal information of over one billion Indians, “had been compromised by a software patch which disables critical security features of the software used to enrol new Aadhaar users”.

UIDAI extends deadline for Aadhaar enrolments, updations for banks

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has asked banks to ensure that at least eight enrolments or updations are carried out daily in each stipulated branch from November 1, 2018, to avoid financial disincentives to be applicable from July 2018.
Under the new deadline, banks will have to ensure that minimum Aadhaar enrolment or updation be raised to 12 from January 1, 2019 and 16 from April 1, 2019.(Reuters/Picture for representation)

Govt proposes joint venture between flight operators, airports authority to implement Digiyatra

The Digiyatra platform will help passengers to plan their trips efficiently by identifying price trends and estimate future airfares at the time of booking. Passengers will have the option to link their Aadhaar to airlines at the time of booking for faster airport entry and automated check-ins.

Aadhaar must to get 5 lakh Ayushman health insurance cover

As part of Ayushman Bharat-National Health Protection Mission, the Centre has announced an insurance cover of 5 lakh per year for hospitalisation to 10.74 crore families. The notification, published by the Union health ministry on July 4, makes Aadhaar mandatory to avail the benefit.
