As part of the state government’s annual exercise, Basic Shiksha Adhilari (BSA)-Prayagraj has kick-started the process of procuring shoes for free distribution to over 4.13 lakh children, studying in classes one to eight in government-run primary and upper primary schools of the district, said officials.

As part of a unique state-wide initiative to be undertaken across all 75 districts, these officials will ensure that all successful class 8 students of upper primary schools, including government-run, government-aided and unaided institutions, enrol in class 9 this year to continue studies, officials said.

A high-tension wire had come in contact with some trees at the school campus. The incident took place at around 10 am when the children took off their footwear to sit on gunny bags on the ground.

Eight-year-old girl crushed under school gate in UP’s Deoria

The girl died after an iron gate and supporting pillars of her school collapsed on her. Police said the gate was old and it seems that substandard material was used in construction of the supporting pillars and boundary wall.
