Uttarakhand forest dept buys inflatable boat for river patrol along Nepal border

The boat will make it easier for the forest department to patrol two islands on the Sharda river that forms a natural boundary with Nepal in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand forest dept, Wildlife Institute of India plan to put radio collars on elephants to curb man-animal conflict

The state government is waiting for the approval from the Central government before putting into motion the radio-collar exercise. State forest department officials said elephants usually venture into areas, where tents are set up for the Mahakumbh pilgrims.

Provide land for STP in 24 hrs: HC to Uttarakhand forest dept

The Uttarakhand high court on Tuesday directed the forest department to provide details with 24 hours of a suitable land available for building a solid waste treatment plant in Haldwani where solid waste could be disposed of on scientific lines and forest clearance is provided for the same at the earliest
