Chandigarh RLA switches to ‘only online’ applications for 14 services

“In pursuance of the notification issued by the Union ministry of road transport and highways, the office of RLA, UT, has already implemented the services of vehicle registration completely online/contactless for the convenience of the general public,” said Pradhumsan Singh, RLA, Chandigarh

In case any applicant faces any technical issue while availing of the services online, they can apply for it offline on the basis of prior appointment through “www.chdtransport.gov.in”. (HT File)

From April 1, it will cost ₹5,000 to renew the registration of all 15-year-old cars, compared with the current rate of ₹600.

BH series registration available on voluntary basis, MoRTH tells Parliament

The ministry also said that it will be available on a voluntary basis to defence personnel, central and state government employees, employees of state and Central government-run PSUs and private sector companies and organisations which have their offices in 4 or more states.

No PUC certificate could lead to seizure of vehicle RC from next year

People aware of the development told Hindustan that according to the new system, the information regarding the vehicle owner will be uploaded to servers linked to Motor Vehicles database. This way, it will be very hard for people to continue using their vehicles without a PUC certificate.

This year, the decline in the number of registrations has accelerated to a steep 10.7%. Delhi Government delivered on 99.5% of doorstep service requests

When launched by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on September 10 last year, the scheme offered 40 services. Last month, on August 11, the government added 30 more services, taking the total number of services offered to 70.

Car buying gets costly in Delhi as one-time parking charges hiked up to 18 times

The transport department collects the parking charges on behalf of the MCDs, which claim that it is meant for creating parking infrastructure in Delhi. The proposal by the three MCDs to hike the charges was pending for quite sometime and was cleared by the transport commissioner on her last day in office, an official said.
