EC asks Bihar officials to boost voter turnout in low-percentage LS seats

The Election Commission directed this effect at a conference chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar in New Delhi on Friday.

The parliamentary constituencies in Bihar where voter turnout was lower than the national average in the last Lok Sabha polls include Patna Sahib (45.80 per cent), Nalanda (48.79 per cent), Karakat (49.09 per cent), Nawada (49.73 per cent), Jahanabad (51.76 per cent) and Arrah (51.81 per cent). Campaign launched to drive up voter turnout to 70% in Lucknow

In a meeting attended by district-level, LMC, LDA, culture department, GST, education and other government agency officials here on Sunday, discussions on how to motivate people through posters, flexes, and social media to exercise their franchise were held.

Awareness camp held in industrial units to encourage workers to vote

The eligible first-time voters are being apprised of the “Voter Helpline” mobile application and “National Voter Services Portal” (NVSP), which can be used for enrolling. The residents can also visit www.nvsp.in to register.
