Renu Gupta’s husband passed away in 1997. She remarried later and at her own request, the family pension was sanctioned afresh to her son in 2002.

States not bothered about welfare of widows and women, says Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Wednesday slapped fines on eight state governments and pulled them up for “not bothering” about the welfare of widows and destitute women.
