1. Magic in the skies
With the grey monsoon skies on their way out, September brings about a spectacular sky vision. According to NASA, the September sky in the year 2013 -14 will be one of the peak moments known as the Solar Maximum.

The experts are predicting plentiful and spectacular displays of bright dancing lights, which are collisions between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the earth’s atmosphere. If you want to see these Northern lights, the time is now and the best place to experience these is farther north on the globe.

Royal Caribbean Cruises are organising trips to exotic locations where you can best experience the Aurora Borealis, a natural phenomenon that paints the night sky with sparkles.

Where: Book your trip through www. royal, prices starting from $929 USD, depending on the package and location.

2. September splash
If the changing season and pleasant skies ahead beckon you to plan a weekend getaway, how about planning a trip to one of the infinity pools in the country. An infinity pool is the newest travellers’ fad. It is actually a swimming or reflecting pool that produces a visual effect of water extending to the horizon, vanishing to infinity.

The good news is you don’t have to book a ticket abroad to experience a dip in one. You can plan a trip to one of these five infinity pools which according to a booking website, offer some of the best experiences

Where: Taj Malabar, Kochi, Rs. 5,797 per room per night.
Alila Diwa, Goa- Rs. 5,454 per room per night.
Wildflower Hall, Shimla- Rs. 11,593 per room per night.
Kumarakom Lake Resort, Kumarakom, Rs. 9,444 per room per night
Kurumba Village Resort, Coonoor- Rs. 7,497 per room per night.

3. Outdoorsy fun

Plan a day out with family and friends in the beautiful weather by visiting an amusement park in the city. Experience the twirling on a rollercoaster or entertain yourself with the daily shows that are offered. From adventure rides like Twister, Flip Out and Splash Dunk and an amphitheatre to boating and fine dining, the park complete with a lake has it all.

Where: Adventure Island, Metro Walk, Station, Rohini

4. Fitness fad

Before the festive season, September can be a good month to begin a fitness regime. Aqua aerobics is a new addition in the city and can be a fun way to lose weight. Performed in shallow waters, non-swimmers need not worry. Float and learn this exercise regime by Cristiana Pipoli, the renowned Brazilian instructor who is in the country.

Where: Jaypee Vasant Continental, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi.
