Adaa Khan: I will only take up lead roles at this point in my career
Actor Adaa Khan says that she will not be giving her nod to supporting roles anytime soon. Here’s why.tv Updated: Sep 25, 2017 17:28 IST
Actor Adaa Khan has steadily emerged as a versatile actor, doing supernatural shows such as Naagin and also being part of a comedy show. After reaching a point where her shows are getting appreciated by the audience, she is certain about one thing. “At the age I am, I am getting offers for lead roles, but after a point of time, as one grows older, one tends to be offered supporting roles. So for me, it’s only powerful leads for now. I will never compromise and do supporting roles,” says Adaa.
While one always hears struggle stories from people who made it big in the entertainment industry, Adaa is quite vocal about facing no hurdles in her career.
“I never wanted to even take up acting in the first place. I was there in a restaurant once when I was offered my first modelling assignment. Then I did a lot of commercials on TV before I got called for my first show Palampur Express, which was followed by Behenein and Amrit Manthan,” says the 28-year old, adding, “By the grace of God, I never had to struggle. My recent show Naagin also helped me a lot.”
While the audience saw her playing a negative role in Naagin, Adaa says it hasn’t affected the kind of offers she is receiving now, considering that the industry is quick to stereotype an actor. “It hasn’t been the issue [in my case]. I have been offered such a variety of roles. Most of them have also been positive characters. So, I haven’t faced anything of this sort, thankfully,” she says.
