Bigg Boss 11 had a grand premiere Sunday evening as Salman Khan began the show by introducing commoner and celeb contestants.
Bigg Boss 11 had a grand premiere Sunday evening as Salman Khan began the show by introducing commoner and celeb contestants. Unlike previous seasons, most of the contestants were revealed through the day on October 1.
The event saw Judwaa 2 stars Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu joining Salman on the stage and inside the show as he introduced fans to the contestants for this year.
There are 15 contestants on the show this time - TV actors Shilpa Shinde, Hiten Tejwani, Hina Khan, Priyank Sharma, VJ Benafsha Soonawalla , Jyoti Kumari, Sshivani Durgah, Sapna Choudhary, Puneesh Sharma, Zubair Khan, Akash Anil Dadlani , Sabyasachi Satyapathi, Luv Tyagi, Mehjabi Siddiqui and Lucinda Nicholas.
Hina, Priyank, Benafsha, Akash, Sapna and Shilpa entertained the audience with interesting gigs and dance performances while Salman was his entertaining self as usual.
Here is a timeline of the events on Sunday’s episode:
11:40PM: The show comes to an end for the day.
11:35pm: Salman Khan says he will turn a ‘padosi’ for Bigg Boss 11. The contestants receive a warm welcome from Bigg Boss! Bigg Boss also allots the first task to the neighbours - they are supposed to pretend to be a close knit family for the housemates.
11:20pm: Vikas Gupta enters Bigg Boss 11 stage. Shilpa and Vikas start a war of words on their fight over Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain.
11:10PM: TV actor Shilpa Shinde enters the house as a celeb contestant. She has a special task for Salman, ‘Achar Pe Vichar’. He needs to taste pickles and guess their names.
11:00PM: Haseena Parkar’s son-in-law Zubair Khan is the next contestant on Bigg Boss. Haseena was gangster Dawood’s sister. Meanwhile, some participants don’t want to wait at all! Puneesh Sharma and Arshi start a fight.
10:50pm: Puneesh Sharma makes a dramatic entry into Bigg Boss house, leaving the contestants shocked. He is commoner, but considers himself no less than a celeb! he claims partying is his hobby.
10:40PM: A stunning performance by TV actor Hina Khan. She will be a celeb contestant on the show. Hina claims her motto for the show will be “girl power”. Housemates are happy to welcome Hina on Bigg Boss. Do you plan to support her?
10:35pm:. Bandagi Kalra and Arshi Khan are here to fight it out! They enter the house as commoner contestants.
10:20pm: Another performance by Judwaa 2 actors Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapse Pannu. Salman discusses his experience of playing Prem & Raja in David Dhawan’s original Judwaa. Salman joins the Judwaa 2 team as they groove to Tan Tana Tan.
10:15PM: Jyoti has a cute gift for Varun Dhawan - a frame of his pictures wrapped in red paper. Looks beautiful!
10:10pm: Judwaa 2 star Varun Dhawan joins Salman Khan on the stage. Even as Akash Dadani’s rap ends, things only get more interesting. All set for her entry in the house, commoner contestant Jyoti Kumari joins the Bollywood stars on stage.
10:05PM: Commoner contestant Akash Anil Dadlani flaunts his skills - he loves rapping. Singing laurels for host Salman Khan, he says, “Salman Khan is cool, he is fun, his muscles are ‘Dabangg’. He reveals meeting Salman is ‘a dream come true’! Salman makes fun of Dadlani’s accent.
10:00PM: TV actor Priyanka Sharma and VJ Benafsha Soonawalla are here to turn up the heat. The duo gives a hot dance performance on Bigg Boss 11 stage.
9:55PM: Sshivani Durgah, a godwoman is the next contestant to enter the Bigg Boss house.
9:50PM: Sabyasachi Satyapathi questions Sapna about her profession and Salman Khan comes to her rescue. She then enters the house and meets Hiten and Akash.
9:40PM: Haryanavi singer Sapna Choudhary makes a grand entry with a groovy performance on Bigg Boss 11 stage.
9:30PM: Bigg Boss introduces four new faces as commoner contestants - Luv Tyagi, Mehjabi Siddiqui, Lucinda Nicholas and Sabyasachi Satpathy. All four, along with Akash, will take on the celebs.
9:25PM: Hiten realises he is not the first contestant to enter Bigg Boss 11. Commoner contestant Akash Anil Dadlani is already there as his “padosi”!
9: 20: The first contestant is here - Salman Khan welcomes TV actors Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan.
9:10PM: Judwaa 2 stars Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu join Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 11 premiere stage. They make a grand entry as they groove to Tan Tana Tan from the movie.
9:00PM: Salman Khan is here and talks about the similarity between Bigg Boss and a biwi (wife). One needs to eat, sleep and live as per the wishes of both Bigg Boss and the wife, Salman says and adds that the only difference is that the public throws one out of the Bigg Boss house. Salman also shares insights about his ‘neighbours’ Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar!
8:55PM: The stage is set for Salman Khan to enter your living rooms and kick start Bigg Boss 11 in five minutes
8:45 PM: Former Bigg Boss contestants including Prince Narula, Aijaz Khan, VJ Andy, Manveer Gurjar, Bani Judge and Kamya Punjabi tweet their best wishes for Bigg Boss 11. Bollywood actors Neha Dhupia, Anupam Kher and Maniesh Paul are also excited for the grand premiere and tweet their best wishes for the show.
Salman Khan returns as the host for Bigg Boss 11. The theme of this season is padosi - the participants will be divided into two groups and will live as neighbours inside the Bigg Boss premises.
According to reports, five females and three males are participating as commoners while the celeb contestants consist of three men and three women. The confirmed celeb contestants on the show this year include TV actors Hina Khan, Shilpa Shinde, Vikas Gupta, Hiten Tejwani, Splitsville contestant Priyank Sharma and VJ Benafsha Soonawalla.
Colors, the channel that airs Bigg Boss, has already revealed four of the contestants - the commoners - for this season. Haseena Parkar’s son-in-law Zubair Khan, who reportedly produced Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar, will be part of the show. Haryanavi singer and dancer Sapna Chaudhary will be another participant on the show as a commoner. A tantrik/godwoman, Shivani Durgah, who holds two PhDs from Chicago University and hails from Noida will also enter the Bigg Boss house on Sunday.
Originally from Masaudi, Patna (Bihar), Jyoti Kumari is a student of Hans Raj College (DU) in Delhi and is all set to take on the participants of Bigg Boss this year. She is a peon’s daughter.
