After Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha, if everything goes as per plan, Dharmendra will be the next actor from the 1970s hit brigade to join the league of Bollywood imports on the tube. He will debut on the small screen as a judge on India’s Got Talent (IGT) Season Three on Colors. The show is expected to start after Khatron Ke Khiladi Torchaar wraps up over the next two months.

It will air on Fridays and Saturdays, but the timings could vary from 9 pm to 9.30 pm. The auditions for the show are underway in various cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, and relatively smaller cities like Lucknow and Jaipur. Before Dharmendra, filmmakers Shekhar Kapoor and Sajid Khan were the judges on the show’s first and second seasons with actors Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre Behl. The latter two will continue as judges on Season Three as well.

Needless to say, several actors and filmmakers were approached to judge the show before Bollywood’s He-Man gave the nod to the show. Before this, Dharmendra has appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season Four’s finale and the opening episode of Jhalak Dikkhlaa Jaa Season Four. He also made an appearance as a guest on Salman Khan’s 10 Ka Dum 2 with son Sunny Deol on Sony Entertainment.

The year so far has been a good one for the actor’s family considering that his home production Yamla Pagla Deewana was declared the first official hit of the year. And now, rumour has it that senior Deol’s show timings will clash with son Sunny’s TV show, Jaanbaaz, on Zee TV that is also expected to run on Fridays and Saturdays.

An official from Colors, on the condition of anonymity says, “You’ll have to wait for an official statement. Dharam ji hasn’t inked the deal yet.”
