Actor Divyanka Tripathi says that she and her fiance actor Vivek Dahiya wanted a monsoon wedding. She also talks about other preparations for the wedding.

As she gears up to tie the knot with television actor Vivek Dahiya in July this year, television actor Divyanka Tripathi says that the couple were keen to have a monsoon wedding. “Everybody wanted us to have a winter wedding but Vivek and I wanted a monsoon wedding because we were eager to tie the knot quickly. It was great that our parents supported our decision and are ready to deal with the July heat and rain for us,” she says.

Television schedules can be hectic, but Divyanka says that her sister Priyanka has been helping her shop for the wedding. “I have barely done any wedding shopping. I am lucky that people recognise me wherever I go, but that’s makes it tough for me to shop. My sister Priyanka, who is in Bangalore, has been shopping online for me,” she says.

The ceremony will take place at Divyanka’s home town Bhopal and the actor’s parents are taking care of the arrangements. “It’s slightly difficult for my family to plan anything as we are here and my brother is in Kuala Lumpur for his pilot training. My in-laws are also alone in Chandigarh as Vivek’s sister is interning in Delhi. So our parents are doing all the preparations on their own. We hardly make a short trip of one or two days back home,” she says.

“In fact, at one point, we also thought that we should just have one function in Mumbai rather than an elaborate affair in Bhopal as it might become too much for our families to manage everything alone. But then our families wanted to go all out and have all the functions, which is why we gave in,” she says.
