Faisal Khan currently appears on TV dance reality show Jhalak Reloaded as a contestant.

Faisal Khan will soon be making his Marathi film debut. The TV actor and dancer rose to fame after winning a dance reality show in 2012. He later played the lead in a historical serial.

Currently seen on yet another dance reality show, Faisal has just finished shooting for his first Marathi film, Prem Kahani.

Ask Faisal why he chose to sign a Marathi film, and he says, “I took it up as a challenge. I liked the concept and the script. As an actor, the film has the perfect recipe for me, in terms of acting, action and dance. It’s a performance-oriented role, and I have always been inclined to taking up such characters.”

The young actor will play the role of Baiju in the film, which is based on the concept of reincarnation. The makers have also included a few dance sequences to capitalise on his dancing skills. While the film is in Marathi, Faisal plays a Rajasthani, so he didn’t have to learn the language. “I did not have to speak Marathi because my character isn’t from the region,” he says.

Faisal says he was surprised when he got the offer, but he is “glad to be walking down a unique path”. He adds, “I see this film as a great learning experience. I am hoping to do films in Hindi as well as in other languages soon. I am open to doing good work across all mediums.”
