After a decent innings in Hindi films and a successful run in south movies, actor Rahul Dev will now make his small screen debut. He will be seen in a pivotal role in popular mythological show, Mahadev.

A source close to the production house says, “The show’s team was looking for a powerhouse performer to play the role of the demon Arunasur and they felt that Rahul fit the bill. They had initially approached senior actor Danny Denzongpa for the role. And although Danny was interested, he had some other commitments and couldn’t adjust his dates for the shoot.”

Apparently Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff were also approached for the same part. The insider adds, “Rahul will start shooting from November 30. His role will be part of the show for three months,” adds the source.

Rahul has been part of many south films where he had played the villain. In Bollywood, he was last seen in Blue (2009) and Shaapit (2010). The actor was unavailable for a comment.
