J’khand attack: Homage paid to slain policemen
Policemen in Palamu district of Jharkhand paid homage to 15 of their comrades who were killed in a Maoist attack on Saturday. The policemen died in the state's rebel-infested Garhwa area after their vehicle went over a landmine that had been laid to ambush them. Grieving relatives of the slain policemen were present at the ceremony on Sunday, as was the state's Director General of Police, G. S. Rath. He said that it needed to be investigated why the policemen had traveled to an area known for a marked presence of rebels.
