About The Video

Pakistan's parliament voted in support of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's government, bolstering its hopes for survival amidst the worst political crisis of the country in over a decade. Gilani's ruling party had been lobbying coalition partners since Friday to vote in favour of a resolution in parliament supporting the government. The resolution backed the government's efforts to "strengthen democracy", but stopped short of criticising the military, which has ruled the country for over half of its 64-year history through a series of coups, or from behind the scenes.
