Traders accuse police of harassment

Traders in Uttar Pradesh have accused the state police of hassling them in the name of checking. Protesting against the officials, the traders in Agra shut shops on Saturday to agitate against the undue strictures implemented by the local police after an Election Commission directive asked the authorities to take strong action against those who are having unaccounted money, ahead of the Assembly polls. Shouting slogans, they demanded state authorities to step into action and relieve them of unnecessary harassment by policemen in the area.
