Watch | Cows stranded on patch of grass after earthquake

Aerial footage has emerged of three cows stranded on a small patch of land. The land around them collapsed from landslides triggered by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit New Zealand on Sunday. Local media say the farmer who owned the two beef cows and calf later dug a path from the top of the green patch down to the ground and brought the animals to safety. The farmer said his property sat right on top of the fault line that shifted during the quake.
