Zimbabwe conservation workers free trapped lion
An injured lion was rescued from in Zimbabwe by a conservation trust called Aware. It took veterinarians five hours to reach the lion trapped by a poacher’s snare. Their initial rescue attempts were hampered by the heavy vegetation and bush that covered the lion. However, they were eventually able to tranquillise the male lion and load him onto a truck, where the vets worked to successfully remove the snare. Aware is described on its website as the ‘conservation trust’ run by veterinarians in Zimbabwe.
