Thousands of people gathered in Mexico City's Zocalo Square on Sunday to recreate the shape of a bicycle and raise awareness of an alternative means of transport to prevent further pollution in the city. The feat comes ahead International Bicycle Day, celebrated on 19 April, where thousands of people across the world celebrate the two-wheeled mode of transport. Mexico is battling its worst air-quality crisis in over a decade. 40 percent of cars were ordered off the road after smog levels hit 1.5 times acceptable limits.
