However, Google has recently announced that it will be shutting down the service from January 19, 2023

Google Stadia, formerly known as Project Stream in 2018, was introduced at GDC 2019 and was live on November 19 with gaming titles like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Destiny 2

Games were rendered on remote servers and streamed to the consumer device by Google Stadia

In addition to that, Google provided a dedicated Stadia controller that used Wi-Fi to connect to the internet instead of your device

Unfortunately, Google Stadia was never able to attract a sufficient number of consumers to allow it to compete with other established forms of gaming

Google has already removed the ability to sign up for Stadia Pro or buy games from the online shop. One can continue to play all of the games in their library till January 18, 2023
