This board exam season, check tips on how to do revision for an exam in 1 week

Not just board exams, if you are appearing for any exam this year, this seven-day revision plan could help you in your preparation.

Day 1: Identify your weak spots where you need to focus. Make a revision timetable planning subjects to revise on which day. Get all your notes together, plan what you need to study on day 2.

Day 2: Stick to your timetable. Make sure you leave time for breaks and food. Focus on the most effective ways to revise, like completing past papers and blurting. Blurting involves writing down the information you can remember and then going back to your notes to find out what you've missed or got wrong.

Day 3: You might be getting a bit bored. Take a walk or do some exercise. You are more likely to be able to focus and feel motivated when your brain lights up and becomes more responsive after exercise.

Day 4: Go back to the topics you've already looked at and test yourself using practice papers - if you're running out of past papers, ask your teachers for some questions. Keep track of time while attempting the questions to test yourself in the real-world situation.

Day 5: Identify where you still need help. Go for a group study session with your friends, or ask your family to test you.

Day 6: Condense all your notes, quotes and formulae to memorise and create some colourful and clear mind maps and flashcards. Check you've not missed anything.

Day 7: Gather your flashcards and mind maps, and see what you can remember without having to look at your notes. Try not to over-study. You have done everything you needed to do. Have the confidence to believe in your abilities!
