Cinema techniques introduced to Indian cinema by Kamal Haasan

Parthasarathy Srinivasan, who became globally recognized as Kamal Haasan, established Raaj Kamal Films International, in 1981, a production company that has become a cornerstone of Indian filmmaking.

His contribution to Indian cinema is not just restricted to his acting career. The inception of his production company marked the beginning of an era characterized by high-quality, innovative film productions that have left a lasting impact on the industry.

His 1986 film, Vikram, was the first to use computer recorded music in Kollywood.

Thevar Magan (1992) used a screenplay writing software for the first time in Tamil cinema.

Mahanadhi (1994) was the first film in Indian cinema to use Avid editing soft, and was also critically acclaimed.

Action drama Kuruthipunal (1995) was the first Tamil film to use Dolby Stereo Surround SR technology.

Prosthetic makeup was used in Indian cinema for the first time for Haasan's film, Indian (1996).

Aalavandhan (2001) was the first Indian film to use animation sequences and motion control rig to capture the movement of pictures.

Virumandi (2004) was the first Tamil film to use live sound recording system.
