Music of the Spheres Tour: Coldplay Mumbai weekend 1 highlights

Coldplay recently began the India leg of their highly anticipated Music of the Spheres tour in Mumbai at DY Patil Stadium.

After the ticket sale fiasco, which sold out within seconds of going live, with resale values skyrocketing to 1.5 lakh, both expectations and excitement were riding high!

Here is an overview of Coldplay's first weekend in Mumbai, where they delighted fans with an unforgettable performance.

The lead vocalist, Chris Martin, read out a placard held by a fan that said, "Jai Shree Ram", and asked what it means.

Martin let a young fan play the piano and perform alongside him. They played Coldplay's hit song "Everglow" together.

In a viral video posted by a fan on X, Chris Martin, while performing one of their songs says, "Shah Rukh Khan forever. Go," while the band continues playing and the crowd erupts in excitement.

The singer also gave a shoutout to brilliant Indian pacer, Jaspreet Bumrah.

Jasleen royal opened the first show on Saturday with a soulful performance of her song "Kho Gaye Hum Kahan" and later, joined Martin on stage for a heartfelt duet of "We Pray."

Chris Martin also delighted fans with his fluent Hindi with phrases like 'Bahut khushi horahi hai' and 'Shukriya'.

In an unexpected turn, Martin apologized for Britain's colonial rule in India, during his concert. He said, "Thank you for forgiving us for all of the bad things that Great Britain has done."
