Home-Style Chicken Biryani

Oil: 4-5 tbsp

Salt: To taste

Tej Patta: 4 

Chicken Masala: 1 tsp

Garam Masala: 1 tsp

Red Chilli: 1 tsp

Dhaniya powder: 4 tsp

Tomato pureed: 1 small bowl

Garlic (paste): 1 tbsp

Onion: 8 big, sliced

Rice: 750-800 gms

Chicken: 1 kg

In a pot, heat some oil and add the sliced onions

Cook the onions till they turn brown. You can set some aside for garnishing if you like

Now, add garlic to the onions and cook for a bit

Add tomato and cook some more

Put all the masalas in and cook

In a separate pot, add the rice and allow it to boil

Add the chicken in the onion mixture and cook it till it softens. Add some water if required

Once the chicken is properly cooked switch the stove off

Now add the rice and chicken in layers and mix

Serve hot with garnishing of your choice
