How to make food colours at home

Food colours make dishes look attractive and appealing. Here are some colours you can make at home to give a healthy touch to your food dishes besides making them look beautiful

After making the food colours, let them cool and strain. Then store them in airtight containers. Refrigerate to use for up to two weeks

You can mix the food colours in batter, frosting or icing

For getting this colour you can use beet. Mix sliced beet with water and blend in food processor

Pink

Blend blueberries and water together until smooth

Purple

Boil spinach with a little bit of water, strain and blend the boiled leaves

Green

The best way to get this colour is by boiling turmeric in water

Yellow

Orange

Coffee or tea helps in getting a beautiful brown colour

For this dark hue use activated charcoal or squid ink
