The US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) frequently selects 'Astronomy Pictures of the Day' and shares them on its website. Here's a look at some of the stunning images selected by NASA. 

This image shared by NASA shows the twisting filaments of supernova remnant Simeis 147 in the Spaghetti Nebula. 

This image shared by NASA shows the auroras forming an amazing shape of a phoenix, lighting up the mesmerising landscape of Iceland.

Shared by NASA, this captivating image is of a supernova shock wave in the Pencil Nebula. The Pencil Nebula is about 800 light-years away from Earth. 

This beautiful image of the Seagull Nebula in the night sky, dotted with stars was captured at Pinnacles National Park in California. The image shared by NASA shows the Nebula taking the avian shape in bright red colour.

This picture shared by NASA features an image of a meteor streak, captured from the resort island of Capri, in the Bay of Naples.

This stunning image selected by NASA features a greenish Halley's comet spreading its light across the sky due to the solar wind.

This enchanting image of Nebulae was shared by NASA. It features the Rosette, the Cone and the Fox Nebulae towards the Unicorn constellation.

This stunning view of the Wolf Moon was captured above the Italian Alps mountains. The Wolf Moon is also called the Ice Moon, the Stay at Home Moon and the Quiet Moon.

This image of the Rosette Nebula, about 3,000 light-years away, in the constellation Monoceros was shared by NASA. Quoted as "When Roses Aren't Red", this image features the beautiful star-forming regions in the Rosette Nebula.
