10 mesmerising photos of Jupiter and its moon shared by NASA

The US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) frequently shares pics of Jupiter and its moons.

According to NASA, Jupiter has 95 moons that have been officially recognised by the International Astronomical Union. Here are some of the pics of Jupiter and its moons shared by NASA.

This closeup photo of Jupiter's northern hemisphere captured by NASA shows massive storms swirling and churning in the gassy atmosphere of the planet in blue, tan and white colours.

This photo of Jupiter's moon Io was captured by NASA's Juno spacecraft. The image shows the moon Io half illuminated by sunlight on the right side and dimly lit on the left side.

This image of Europa, one of the largest moons of Jupiter, was captured by NASA's Europa Clipper spacecraft studying the ocean moon of Jupiter. The image shows rust-coloured stripes across the icy crust of Europa.

This picture of Jupiter's surface was captured by NASA's Juno spacecraft on its 38th close pass of the giant planet. The image shows blue, gray and tan-coloured clouds swirling in a storm-like pattern on the planet.

This image is of Jupiter captured in ultraviolet wavelengths by NASA's Hubble telescope. The image shows the gas giant in shades of pink, blue and purple.

This image of Jupiter's moon Europa was captured by NASA's Juno spacecraft. The image shows a part of Europa's cracked and streaked surface illuminated with sunlight.

Captured by NASA's spacecraft, this image shows Jupiter to the right aligned with the planet's volcanic moon Io to the far left. Io has the most active volcanic surface in the solar system with hundreds of volcanoes.

NASA shared this close-up image of Jupiter's iconic Great Red Spot, captured by its Juno spacecraft. The Great Red Spot on Jupiter is an active and enormous storm system on the planet.

This black and white photo was captured by NASA's robotic solar-powered spacecraft aboard the Europa Clipper. The image shows the icy moon Europa rising above Jupiter's surface.

This image of Jupiter was captured by NASA's Hubble telescope. It shows the planet's Great Red Spot in the middle. Its icy moon Ganymede can be spotted transiting the planet adjacent to the red spot.
