Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections 2023 voter turnout

Madhya Pradesh Assembly election and the second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly election took place on Novemeber 17, 2023. 

The second phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly polls took place for the remaining 70 seats of the 90-member assembly. Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections took place for 230 assembly seats. 

The counting of votes for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh assemblies will take place on December 3 along with three other state assemblies - Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram. 

Over 18, 800 polling stations were set up for Chhattisgarh polls. Whereas, over 64,000 polling stations were set up for Madhya Pradesh assembly polls on November 17. 

A total of 958 candidates contested in Chhattisgarh Assembly election. 2,533 candidates contested in Madhya Pradesh Assembly election. 

Total electorate recorded in Chhattisgarh is 1.63 crore while it is 5.6 crore in Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.

Till 5 PM on November 17, Chhattisgarh Assembly polls recorded 67.34 percent voter turnout and Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls recorded 71.16 percent voter turnout. 

The first phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly elections held on November 7 saw a higher voter turnout of 78 percent.

In 2018, Chhattisgarh recorded 70 percent voter turnout in the first phase and 71.93 percent voter turnout in the second phase. Madhya Pradesh assembly polls recorded 75 percent voter turnout.
