‘India, I reached my destination’: Chandrayaan-3 on Moon

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved a historic milestone on August 23 with soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon's surface at 6:04 pm

ISRO took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate the nation on Chandrayaan-3's soft-landing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi connected with ISRO from Johannesburg, South Africa to witness the monumental moment

PM Modi congratulated the nation and said, "It is a historic day for India's space sector"

Ahead of the landing, the lander module was brought down from 30km to 7.4km in the first phase 

Entering the third phase, the lander followed the projected graph perfectly

After hovering on the moon surface, the Vikram lander achieved nearly zero velocity and landed on the moon

India became the fourth country after the United States, Russia and China to land successfully on the lunar surface

India became the first country to successfully land on the moon's south pole

The Chandrayaan-3 mission aims to conduct lunar exploration by studying the moon's surface with a rover

The Vikram lander will deploy the rover Pragyan which will carry out in-situ chemical analysis of the lunar surface
