Ram Temple consecration: States that declared holiday, half-day on Jan 22

The consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh will take place on January 22. Several states have declared a public holiday or a half-day on the day of 'pran-pratishtha' ceremony. 

Here's a list of the states that have declared a public holiday or a half-day on January 22 (Monday).

Uttar Pradesh

All educational institutions across the state to remain closed on January 22. Liquor shops will also be closed.

Delhi

All state government offices and civic bodies will remain closed. Hospitals like All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) will remain closed till 2:30 pm. However, all critical services will remain functional.

Gujarat

All government offices will remain closed for half a day on January 22.

Chhattisgarh

All government offices will remain closed till 2:30 pm. 

Madhya Pradesh

All schools will remain closed and government offices will be closed for half a day till 2:30 pm. A dry day has been announced across the state.

Haryana

The state government announced a half-day for government offices and educational institutions. The state government announced a dry day on January 22.

Odisha

All the government offices, as well as revenue and magisterial courts in Odisha to remain closed till 2:30 pm.

Assam

A half-day for government offices and educational institutions has been declared till 2:30 pm.

Uttarakhand

All government offices will remain closed till 2:30 pm. Educational institutions will observe a holiday. 

Maharashtra

The state government announced a public holiday in Maharashtra on January 22.

Rajasthan

All government offices in the state will remain closed for half a day.

Goa

All government offices and educational institutions will remain closed.

Tripura

All government offices and educational institutions to remain closed till 2:30 pm.

Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Union Territory administration has declared the closure of all its offices on January 22.

Puducherry

The state will observe a public holiday on January 22.
