Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya: 8 things to know

The consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be held on January 22, 2024. Here are 8 things that you must know about Ram Temple inauguration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cricketers, politicians, celebrities, industrialists, saints and representatives from various countries are expected to attend the grand event. 

The idol of Lord Ram in his child-like form (Ram Lalla) will be enthroned at the sanctum-sanctorum of the Ram Temple at noon on January 22.

The rituals for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will begin on January 16 and continue for the next seven days till January 22. 

The host appointed by the temple trust will conduct the atonement ceremony. The rituals will include Vishnu worship, a procession with the idol of Lord Ram, and havan.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra is a trust that has been given the responsibility of the construction and management of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The trust recently unveiled images of the magnificent Sinh Dwar of the shrine.

The shrine has been raised in the traditional Nagara architecture style. According to the Trust, Ram Mandir is three-storey, each floor 20 feet tall.

While inaugurating the Maharshi Valmiki Airport in Ayodhya, PM Modi urged people to light special diyas in their homes on January 22 to celebrate the day of 'pran pratishtha' of Ram temple as 'Deepawali'.

Prime Minister Modi also requested the devotees to avoid visiting Ayodhya on the day of inauguration to prevent hassle.
