Stars and galaxies: NASA's 10 mesmerising pics

NASA often takes to Instagram to share captivating visuals of stars, nebula and galaxies. Here are 10 such mesmerising pics shared by NASA

NASA shared this image captured by the Hubble telescope in which a pair of galaxies can be seen merging. The spiral arm galaxy on the left glows with dust and gas while the galaxy on the right has a bright core

This is a composite image of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), also known as the Wing. It is a small galaxy 200,000 light-years away orbiting our Milky Way spiral galaxy

This pic is of two distant galaxies observed by NASA's Hubble telescope. On the right side is NGC 4302 and the tilted galaxy towards the left is NGC 4298. Both the galaxies are approximately 55 million light-years away

Captured by NASA's four space telescopes, this image is of the Pinwheel Galaxy. This galaxy is 70 percent larger than the Milky Way galaxy. It is 21 million light-years away from Earth in the Ursa Major constellation

Here's another spectacular image of the glittering star cluster of Terzan 12 in the Milky Way in the constellation Sagittarius. This star cluster is located about 15,000 light-years away from Earth

This starry image of the Eagle Nebula captured by the Hubble telescope shows yellow, white and blue stars dotted in the sky surrounded by blue haze. This nebula is located 6,500 light-years away in the constellation Serpens

NASA shared this image of a spiral galaxy known as M77, located 47 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus. It shows spiralling and swirling arms that contain gas, dust and starbursts

Located 210,000 light-years away from Earth, lies this dreamy Malibu Galaxy in hues of pink and purple. This image captured by the Hubble telescope shows stars spread across the space amidst gas and dust

This image is of the Tarantula Nebula that shows wavy lines that represent the magnetic fields around the star-forming region. The reddish-purple lines are surrounded and layered by a cluster of bright blue and orange stars

NASA's Hubble telescope captured this splendid pic of the Butterfly Nebula in wavelengths. The waves of teal gas emitting from the core form the wings as several stars sparkle in the space
