4 common reasons for hair loss you must know

Hair loss can happen due to various reasons. Several environmental and biological factors can lead to hair loss and prevent it from growing back.

Here are four factors which can lead to hair loss.

Stress

Intense stress can trigger telogen effluvium, in which hair follicles enter a resting phase, leading to hair loss.

Hormonal imbalance

Hormonal imbalance due to conditions such as PCOS, pregnancy, menopause, or thyroid disorders in women can contribute to hair loss, whereas increase in Dihydrotestosterone levels can lead to hair fall in males.

Nutrient deficiency

A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals is vital for hair health. Lack of essential nutrients and an unhealthy diet can lead to hair fall.

Medications

Some medications and treatments can cause side effects which can lead to hair loss.

It is recommended to consult a doctor for diagnosis and treatment if you experience extreme hair fall.
