4 tips to make your garden soil fertile

Soil is an essential source of nutrients for a plant. It is important to make sure that the soil in your garden is fertile for growing healthy plants.

Here are some tips to maintain the fertility of the soil in your garden.

Add humus

Humus balances soil's pH levels, maintains an ideal temperature for growing plants and improves the supply of nutrients. It works as a natural fertiliser and aids plant growth.

Add minerals

You can add some organic substances and minerals to the soil to improve its fertility. Sand, lime, clay and charcoal are some of the minerals that you can mix with your garden soil.

Add organic fertilisers

Organic fertilisers such as food peelings, seaweeds, egg shells and tea work as a natural compost that improves the soil's fertility and promotes healthy growth of plants.

Aerate the soil

Aerating the soil is very important to make sure that the nutrients in the soil are well distributed. It allows the moisture and the air to permeate through the roots of the plant.
