4 tips to protect your hair from chlorine damage

Washing hair with chlorinated or hard water can lead to hair and scalp problems such as dandruff, hair fall and brittle hair. It is essential to protect your hair from damage caused by chlorinated water.

Here are some tips to protect your hair from chlorine damage.

Hair oiling

Make sure to oil your hair before you shower so that the hair is well moisturised and the scalp is hydrated enough to prevent damage caused by chlorine.

Use a mild anti-dandruff shampoo

When you shower, opt for a mild, chemical-free anti-dandruff shampoo that clears your scalp, helps eliminate dandruff, removes harmful minerals settled on your hair and reduces damage.

Use a conditioner

Applying conditioner is crucial to prevent the hair from becoming dry and brittle due to chlorine in the water. Apply some conditioner to your hair and wash it after two minutes.

Wear a cap in the swimming pool

The water in the swimming pool usually contains a high amount of chlorine that can damage your hair. Make sure to wear a swimming cap covering your hair to prevent damage.
