4 ways too much air conditioning can affect your health

Air conditioning helps offer respite from the scorching summer heat. However, prolong exposure can lead to potential side effects on your health.

Here are some ways too much air conditioning can affect your health.

Dehydration

Air conditioning depletes the moisture levels in the air which can lead to dehydration.

Headache

Sudden temperature changes from a hot to a cool environment can cause blood vessels in the head to constrict and expand rapidly, leading to headaches. Prolonged hours in an AC room can also trigger sinus problems.

Cause dry or itchy skin

Exposure to cold temperatures in an air conditioned room can cause the skin to become dry, irritable and itchy.

Respiratory issues

An air-conditioned room can accumulate pollutants such as dust and other airborne chemicals that continue to circulate within closed spaces. This can increase air pollution in the room and cause respiratory issues.
