Overthinking can have a negative impact on your mental well-being and affect your productivity. Here are 5 healthy habits to help you cope with overthinking. 

Acknowledge your thoughts

It is important to observe, acknowledge and accept your thoughts as it is beneficial in identifying triggers. Try maintaining a journal to help keep track of your thoughts.

Take control

You might get stuck in an overthinking loop if you don't take any action towards the thought. Look for solutions and focus on problem-solving.  


Dedicate a few minutes to practising mindfulness and meditation as it will clear your mind and help you focus on the present.

Find a distraction

It is essential to keep yourself engaged in an activity to keep your mind occupied. Pick up a new hobby or an activity that you enjoy. 

Embrace your fears

Practice self compassion and embrace your fears. Accept the negative thoughts and let go of the things that are not in your control.
