5 hydrating hair masks you can make at home

The intense summer heat can strip your hair of moisture, making it dry and brittle. Here are five homemade remedies to help keep your hair hydrated and healthy.

Avocado and coconut oil

Avocados are rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, which are vital for hair health. Coconut oil contains nourishing properties. Mix the two and make a hair mask to help hydrate your hair.

Bananas, honey and yoghurt 

Bananas are loaded with essential vitamins and natural oils which help condition hair. Mix it with yoghurt and honey to help lock moisture and hydrate your hair. 

Lemon juice with eggs 

Eggs contain proteins that help nourish hair follicles. Lemon juice is packed with citric acid, which helps act as a hair cleanser. Mix the two and make a hair mask to boost hydration.

Aloe vera 

Apply aloe vera gel to your hair. It provides moisture and hydration and helps repair damaged and dull hair. 

Apple cider vinegar with honey

Make a hair mask by mixing apple cider vinegar with honey. This is an ideal remedy for dull hair. It helps bring back shine and nourishment to your hair.
